DEAR MIKE CARES: My parents are in their 70s. They live in a retirement community. As they have gotten older, they have become more private. They no longer want their children or grandkids around. Recently, I received a call telling me that they would not be answering phone calls anymore. I have stopped by their house, but they do not answer the door. What little relationship I had with them no longer exists. Advice? -- WANTING TO CONNECT
DEAR WANTING TO CONNECT: Your parents have finally come to their senses, they are sick and tired of you and their ill-mannered grandchildren being forced on them, and they are finished being the free babysitter’s and playing therapist while listening to your miserable life issue complaints. I salute your parents for taking a stand, but, this may also be the preamble to a murder suicide, so you might want to try and get back in their good graces, at least until you can see if you are still in their wills. Good Luck and Keep in Touch! Dear Mike Cares is also on X, Instagram and Facebook (whatever they are.) Email me your stupid questions at DearMikeCares@gmail.com
